Publish a paginated report from Power BI Report Builder to Power BI Report Server

Install the Power BI report builder to develop the paginated reports. Download it either form the Microsoft download center directly or from the downloads in the Power BI report server website as in the image below.

Once after the report builder is installed, develop a paginated report. For this article, created a paginated report developed through Power BI report builder using AdventureWorksDW2017 database – an order receipt for each sales order on a given date with a page break after each order.

To publish the report to the Power BI report server, click on File -> Save As-> This PC on the report builder.

A new window ‘Save As Report’ will be opened. If the icon ‘Recent Sites and Servers’ is not available on the left side of the window, select ‘My Computer’ and provide the ‘Power BI Report Server’ url (e.g. http://<ServerName>/ReportServer)  and click on ‘Enter’. Provide your user credentials if prompted.

After the last step, report server folders can be viewed in the same window. Select the relevant folder the report should be published, and then provide the report name and click on ‘Save’. If there aren’t any errors or issues after this step, report has been published to the Power BI report server.

As a final step, open the Power BI report server page from the browser, navigate through to the relevant folder the report was published and then run the report to make sure the report was published correctly.
